Annual Red Mass: Public, All Faiths Welcome

The Highlands County Bar Association extends an invitation to you, your friends, families, and staff to attend this year's Red Mass at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 23, 2017, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Sebring.  

The Red Mass is currently celebrated in dioceses throughout the United States, including many of the dioceses of Florida, to invoke God's blessing upon the members of the bench, bar, legislature, law enforcement and governmental agencies, all protectors and administrators of the law.  It is traditionally celebrated each year before the beginning of the United States Supreme Court's new docket.  This year's Mass in Sebring will again be celebrated by our diocesan pastor, Most Rev. Frank J. Dewane, Bishop of the Diocese of Venice.  Bishop Dewane will be traveling to St. Catherine in Sebring exclusively to participate in our service.

Additionally, the Oath of Attorney will be administered to all members of the Florida Bar present.  

We urge all members of the public, of all faiths, to attend this important service, and to bring your staffs, family, and friends.  There will be a reception in the Church social hall immediately following the service, with lunch provided free of charge.
